The University of Haifa Response to the AUT Decision (26.5.05)
The University of Haifa welcomes the decision by the AUT to rescind the boycott measure. Nevertheless, we are disappointed with the AUT's lack of remorse. Given the regrettable decision to implement sanctions based on hearsay and innuendo, we had hoped that the AUT would offer a full apology. Instead, the AUT has chosen to ignore the damage inflicted upon our reputation. We trust that in the future, the AUT will develop the necessary procedures to avoid such politically motivated abuse of its guidelines and mission. In the meantime, we call upon the members of the AUT to join us in building bridges rather than barriers.
