The following pages are dedicated to the history and origins of Ancient Gadara -- as well as to the lives of its famous sons and daughters, who included poets and philosophers, historians and rhetoricians, scientists and witches. It also presents images of original slides shot by me at its twin sites - Um-Qeis in Jordan and Hammat-Gader in Israel - as well as a computerised map of the area of the Decapolis -- and a selection of ancient texts in my own translations.
