Problems when Creating Your Own Home Page

If you cannot see your home page when trying to access it with a browser:
  1. Make sure the permissions are correct.If not, do: 
            chmod 755 ~/public_html 
    
        chmod 644 ~/public_html/index.html

  2. Ask your system administrator whether there is a web server installed on your system
