Evolution of Evolution:

The Department of Environmental and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Haifa Celebrates Darwin's Bicentenary

This year marks the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth, the founding father of the theory of evolution, and the 150th anniversary of the publication of his book "On the Origin of Species".

The theory of evolution has revolutionized not only closely related fields from natural sciences, but also seemingly unrelated fields from humanities and social sciences.

The Department of Environmental and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Haifa will commemorate these events by a special, interdisciplinary symposium, targeted to a wide audience: "The Evolution of Evolution". The speakers are key figures from the science, public life, nature and environment, in Israel.

The symposium will take place on Monday, June 15th, at the Hecht Auditorium in the main building.

Free entrance.

Free parking will be available at the parking lot next to the Multi-purpose Building.
