Etti Resnik was born in Poland and came as a child to Israel. Her
father, Nathan Meissler, was one of the leading actors of the Israeli
theatre, first at the Ohel theatre, and then at the Haifa Municipal
Theatre. Resnik graduated in theatre directing from the Department of
Theatre Arts at Tel Aviv University.
Resnik served as the artistic directress of Bamat Hakibbutz theatre and head of the Beit Zvi School of Theatre. She directed Rosmersholm at the Haifa Municipal Theatre, Woman from the Earth at the Akko Festival, Top Girls and Breaking the Code at the Library Theatre, Ramat Gan; Ephraim Goes Back to the Army at Zavta Tel Aviv, and Folk Tales, The Witch, Odyssinbad,Step on a Crack and many other plays at the Orna Porat Children and Youth Theatre. She has been teaching and directing for many years at the Beit Zvi School of Theatre and taught and directed at the department of theatre arts, Tel Aviv University and the Seminar Hakibbutzim drama school.
